Fall is here, leaves are changing, and we finally had a taste of that crisp, cool, fall air here in Texas! Is there anything better than bonfires, s'mores, cozy blankets and good company? Halloween is going to be here before we know it, so I thought we could discuss some different Halloween/Fall decor options. I've got some simply stunning table displays that I think you'll swoon over. Midnight GardenI love the idea of combining creepy with elements of classy. The mix of florals, with dark accent notes such as candles, pumpkins, plates, etc. has such a dark and glamorous feel. I love the pops of greenery mixed in. Spooky, yet sophisticated. You're sure to wow your dinner guests with any of these table displays. *Pro-Tip, go to your local thrift shop for candlesticks, picture frames, decor, etc. and spray paint them black for your table display. pinterest pinterest Fall TrendsLet's talk fall trends for 2018. Organic/Natural ElementsThese are taken from our Design Studio in Keller. ScandinavianI've been in love with the simplicity of Scandinavian design for quite a while now. The clean, minimalistic aspects are just pleasant to look at. It's become very popular here recently. White on white is common with this style. It's very Monochromatic. Some crucial points to pulling off Scandinavian Design is to keep it minimalistic, clean, bright, and airy. Incorporate different textures such as a faux fur throw, pillows, organic elements such as; wood, plants, and greenery. White and black are important in pulling off this look. ig @emilianuusikuu ig @emilianuusikuu Cozy LayersThis time of year typically means friends and family come to visit. Ambiance is important in making guests feel comfortable and welcome. A good way to incorporate levels of comfort is with different sized lanterns, filled with candles, pumpkins, coffee beans, etc. Try using different textures for your throws and pillows placed about such as; Wool, Cotton, Chenille. Firewood has become not just something for a fireplace on a chilly day. People are using it as accent pieces and it adds a level of rustic warmth to a room. Fall FarmhouseLet's be honest, the farmhouse craze is here to stay. People just adore it. There is something so reminiscent and comforting about the farmhouse style. It's cozy, rustic, and makes you want to sip some hot coco and be with your family. This is one of my favorite styles to decorate for fall because they just go so easily together. Plaid is essential here. pinterest That concludes the blog for October. Enjoy the nice fall weather, have a fun and frightful Halloween! This desire coincides with the interior trends currently happening. 2017 has shown us that people want a more conscientious approach to consumerism. They are preferring more natural materials. Plants are proving to be the must-have accent pieces for homes. Wood is also widely used providing a counter balance against materials like marble. Some other highly desired trends are; exposed brickwork, use of cement, pairing metals with raw natural materials like wood, cork, and clay. Some 90's trends have even resurfaced. Greenery is a fresh and zesty yellow-green shade. Illustrative of flourishing foliage and the lushness of the great outdoors. Although, I don't see us using Greenery as a paint color I see it as accents, art, and plant life. I am thoroughly excited to have such a rejuvinating and fresh color for this year! Being the daughter of an Air Force pilot, Chris grew up all over the world, where she was exposed to the Old Masters from an early age as her parents took her to museums everywhere they went. She was drawn to the Impressionist painters, and how they painted everyday life scenes and captured the light and use of color in expressive ways. In 1977 her family moved to Holland, where the breath-taking beauty was etched into her memories. Her experience in Europe plays an instrumental part in her current work. In 1989 Chris graduated with a BFA in Art Education from Baylor University, and taught art in the public school system in the Dallas/Ft. Worth area for 11 years. In 2002 she stepped down from teaching school, and established her own business which included everything from painting commercial and residential murals and faux finishes, to painting oil on canvas. Some of her work is featured here at the Studio. You can also check her available paintings for sale here. 2017 Furniture ReleaseMany people are not aware of our Wholesale Furniture line. It seems as though it was JUST October and now here we are, in the midst of December! I absolutely love this time of year. It is magical, full of family, memories, warm coffee, and joy. It also happens to be our busiest time of year. Right next to Santa himself. We get swamped this time of year with people who want their homes perfect for the holidays! We consider it a blessing because not only is it satisfying to make others happy but we also love to buy gifts for others, and it allows us to do so!
